What does treatment involve?
Dental implant treatment is a process which begins – as all cosmetic dentistry procedures at Sandown Dental do – with a consultation. This lets the patient be made fully aware of the intricacies of the dental implant process and what the patient can expect in terms of results and treatment time frames. Installing an implant involves a small dental operation, during which the titanium-alloy root is embedded inside the bone structure of the patient’s jaw. Once this has been carried out, there is a short healing period. During this time, the titanium-alloy within the implant bonds iself with the natural bone tissue of the patient. After this has taken place, a prosthesis is then fixed to an exposed small abutment, and the space is permanently filled and restored.
